Midwifery Education Toolkit: Medical Abortion

Different health care providers should be able to provide evidence-based quality medical abortion care: midwives, nurses, physicians and community health officers.

During the Medical Abortion programme, which is part of the Midwifery Education Toolkit, you will learn both online and in person with facilitators.

You will develop the communication skills and other competencies necessary to support a medical abortion care experience that is safe, respectful and stigma-free.

On completion, you will be able to demonstrate respectful behaviour that preserves dignity, and to ensure provision of emotional support as desired.
